How we handle your information.
We follow PHIPA, PIPEDA, and the standards of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. This page is a plain-English summary.
What we collect
When you contact us through the form on this site, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, and the message you send. When you become a client, we collect intake information, clinical notes, and billing information necessary to provide care.
How we use it
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, schedule appointments, provide clinical care, issue receipts, and meet our regulatory and tax obligations. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with marketing or advertising platforms.
Where it lives
Clinical notes are stored on a PHIPA-compliant electronic medical record system. Inquiry-form messages are received by email and retained only as long as necessary to respond. Online sessions are conducted on a PHIPA-compliant secure video platform. We do not record sessions.
Limits to confidentiality
Information you share in sessions is held in confidence with the limits set by Ontario law and the CRPO. Those limits include imminent risk of serious harm to self or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, suspected abuse of a long-term care resident, sexual abuse by a regulated health professional, and information ordered by a court. Your practitioner reviews these limits with you in the first session.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses no cookies and no tracking analytics. We do not run third-party scripts. We do not log IP addresses beyond standard server logs retained for security purposes only.
Your rights
Under PHIPA you have the right to access, correct, or request destruction of your personal health information. To make a request, contact us at hello@fold.example. If you have a complaint that we cannot resolve, you may contact the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
Changes to this notice
We update this page when our practices change. The current version is effective from the date noted at the bottom of this page.
